SUMMARY:Look2Justice Youth Coalition
DESCRIPTION:Look2Justice Youth Coalition (LYC)\, is designed to provide young people with civic education that includes leadership and communication development. The coalition experience will equip our young people with insights on how Washington's legislative process works\, how to effectively advocate for positive change\, and basic principles for how to organize successfully.\n\n* The LYC meetings provide a space for coalition members to become familiar with one another\, while removing barriers that hinder educational growth. All LYC lessons and projects include: where bills come from\, how bills becomes laws\, how bills die during sessions\, how to testify during committee hearings\, and how to engage in effect advocacy as constituents.\n\n* In addition to receiving letters for student portfolios\, all LYC members will have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars in raffle prizes through attendance\, participation\, and providing correct answers during Q  and  A.\n\n* Each LYC cohort has a 3-month duration\, and will hold a capacity of thirty young people\, (ages 13-19). All LYC meetings are virtual and will last an hour and thirty minutes.\n\nWHY IT MATTERS?\nMany young people who come from marginalized communities are oblivious to how the legislative process works. This excludes them from participating in decision making processes that impact their lives. By offering them civic education\, we empower their voices and provide them with the tools to effectively advocate for themselves.\n\nThe LYC develops our young people into becoming the next generation of leaders who will leave a life-giving impact on our communities.\n\nLaunching in February 2026
