Sacred Stories – Terrain Gallery Exhibition | Uziel Gonzalez and Sarah Windisch

Sacred Stories brings together artists Uziel Gonzalez and Sarah Windisch in a shared exploration of identity, heritage, and cultural expression.
Through woodblock and screenprint portraits, Uziel Gonzalez amplifies stories from Spokane’s Latino community, centering themes of migration, sacrifice, pride, and resilience. His work reveals the individuals behind these narratives and invites viewers to witness their strength and dignity.
Sarah Windisch’s mixed media series draws inspiration from Mexican folk art and sacred heart symbolism. Her prints transform everyday imagery into icons of faith, love, humor, and defiant joy. Working in linocut and screenprint, she creates bold, handmade works that balance rebellion with reverence.
Together, their work honors the beauty and complexity of lived experience where devotion, identity, and storytelling meet.
